Tim Wettstein founded FREEGHOST in 2023 where he’s helping Advertising, Media companies, and direct clients get the most ROI and brand exposure. He was at DDB/Voltage as Chief Creative Officer leading the Volkswagen brand across Europe. He spent more than 10 years in the US. Among his past affiliations are 72andSunny LA, Crispin Porter Bogusky and BBDO New York. He has led companies and campaigns like Porsche, Lexus North America, Google, Best Buy and Call of Duty and is recognized by all major award shows. With a wealth of international experience including stints in Stockholm, New York, Miami and Lost Angeles, Wettstein brings additional creative expertise and global cultural perspective. He is known for his first-to-market executions including a breakthrough broadcast TV spot in stereoscopic 3D and the first interactive “Eye Contact Installation” for the Ad Council/Autism Speaks from BBDO NY that was honored in the Next Experiential category of the AICP Next Awards and is part of the permanent collection at the Museum of Modern Art in New York. His passion for finding creative solutions that use technology in innovative ways brought to life Bullseye’s Playground for Target, an immersive, in-store gaming experience allowing the player to physically walk throughout a game and interact with characters within a store environment using Google’s Tango 3D mapping technology. This effort helped 72andSunny was named 'Most Innovative Company' by FastCompany two years in a row. He was also instrumental for Rick & Morty's first ever commercial with a brand, which won the Webby's People's Choice award and the series creator, Dan Harmon, called it one of the biggest moments.
A pilot in his spare time, a self-declared “engine enthusiast”, a car collector and music producer.
He also serves on the TikTok B2B Board and is a Member of the Art Directors Club Germany since 2019.
